This funding represents an unprecedented level of investment in putting modern, clean public transport on the road. "

Yesterday's announcement covers the second round of funding for buses and supporting infrastructure in the US, which has so far totaled $3.3bn (currently about Rmb23.892bn), with an additional allocation of about $5bn (currently about Rmb36.2bn) expected over the next three years.

The Seattle area will receive $33.5 million (currently about 243 million yuan) to buy 30 electric buses and chargers, and the Washington, D.C. Transportation Authority will spend $104 million (currently about 753 million yuan) to convert bus garages into charging facilities and purchase about 100 electric buses. The money will also flow outside major U.S. cities, such as Iowa City, Iowa, and Seneca Native communities in western New York.
