CTOnews.com, June 27 (Xinhua)-- Apple will replace the latest iPhone 14 for retail employees to make it easier for them to sell, Bloomberg reporter Mark Gurman reported.

Employees at Apple stores use the iPhone as a PoS. These devices are currently the iPhone XS launched in 2018, but they are a bit out of date, it's hard to run the latest iOS system, and they don't have enough battery life.

Gurman points out that many employees complain that they have to change their old iPhone several times a day, sometimes even in the middle of a transaction. Vox Media's Parker Ortolani replied on Twitter that when he went to the Apple store, he saw an Apple expert changing his phone in the middle of the deal. A former Apple store employee also mentioned that they change their phones two or three times a day.

Although the iPhone XS looks the same as the iPhone X, it has a better camera and a faster A12 bionic chip. But five years later, it is clear that these devices are out of date. The iPhone XS will be the oldest iPhone model supported by iOS 17, so Apple's decision to replace these devices makes sense.

The iPhone used by Apple stores as sales terminals is packed in special boxes, and with the launch of the Tap to Pay last year, some Apple stores began to use these iPhone to accept contactless payments directly, and employees can also use these iPhone to send customers purchase receipts.
