CTOnews.com June 26, Qualcomm has just released a new entry-level mobile chipset Snapdragon 4 Gen 2, which has upgraded from the previous generation of 6nm to 4nm technology, bringing a big upgrade to low-end smartphones.

The chip uses a Qualcomm Kryo CPU with a peak speed of 2.2 GHz, 10 per cent higher than the previous generation. In addition, it supports fast charging technology, and Qualcomm says you only need to charge for 15 minutes to get 50% of the battery.

The platform supports FHD+ 120fps displays and has been upgraded in terms of cameras, such as electronic stabilizers, faster autofocus, and further reduction of blur. In addition, the chipset even provides multi-camera time filtering (MCTF) to reduce noise in video.

Of course, as a modern product launched in 2023, it also focuses on the AI, mainly for more camera upgrades, including using artificial intelligence to adjust brightness in dark environments, background elimination tools, and so on.

Qualcomm said devices with the processor would be available in the second half of 2023, noting that handset makers such as Xiaomi's Redmi sub-brand and vivo would soon use the chip. Referring to CTOnews.com 's previous revelations, Xiaomi's new machine is likely to be Redmi Note 12R (rumored to be on the market on June 30, starting at 1099 yuan).
