CTOnews.com, June 26 (Xinhua)-- the first all-electric car of British luxury brand Bentley will be equipped with self-driving technology, according to AutoCar, a British auto magazine.

Adrian Hallmark, Bentley's chief executive, revealed that the car would then use Mobileye's SuperVision system, which consists of 11 cameras and would also be used in Porsche's upcoming Macan EV. At first, the car can be partially self-driving on the highway, and it is expected to be fully self-driving through OTA software updates in the future.

It is reported that Bentley's first electric car is expected to be officially unveiled in 2025 and is likely to be a sports coupe rather than a previously rumored high-chassis sedan or crossover. Hallmark revealed last year that the electric car would have a power output of up to 1400 horsepower and be able to accelerate from rest to 60 mph in 1.5 seconds, a performance figure that seems unlikely for a crossover. However, Hallmark also said that Bentley will also launch a "slower" version to satisfy customers who think it is too fast.

Bentley will launch a new electric car every year from 2025 to 2030. The company will also invest $3 billion to overhaul its plant in Crewe to meet the needs of the electric age.

Meanwhile, Rolls-Royce, another well-known British luxury carmaker, will launch its first electric car this autumn. The electric car, called Spectre, is a luxury coupe built on the same platform as Phantom and Cullinan.
