CTOnews.com, June 26 (Xinhua) Google's find my Devices (Find My Device) app is software that helps users locate lost or stolen phones, tablets, watches and headphones. This summer, Google will use more than 1 billion Android devices around the world to provide users with a web service that can locate items such as trackers and headphones. To that end, Google decided to replace the app with a new Logo.

CTOnews.com noted that for the past few years, the app's Logo has been a white positioning pushpin with a phone pattern in the middle and a green background, which reflects the app's map-based positioning features. Earlier this year, Google overhauled the app with a new Material You design, but Logo remained the same.

Now that the new Logo of the find my device app has been revealed, Google still uses the theme of mapping and location, designing a cross made up of four corporate colors, and hinting at radar and scanning capabilities. This Logo is more abstract than previous versions. After all, the find my device app is no longer just for mobile phones, but covers a variety of devices such as tablets, watches and headphones.

The new Logo is expected to be launched this summer with the launch of the find my device web service, which will allow users to view locators, headphones (to be launched later) and the location of mobile devices. The app can also provide guidance and play sounds as objects approach. Google said that "location data collected from the network is end-to-end encrypted, which ensures that Google cannot see or use them for other purposes" and will provide more details on built-in privacy protection measures before the launch.
