CTOnews.com June 25 news, According to CCTV news report, June 23, Qinghai-Tibet railway Xining to Golmud section of the important node of the quality improvement project-EMU test train online operation. After the completion of the test, the Fuxing EMU will officially operate on the Xig section of the Qinghai-Tibet Railway on July 1.

▲ The quality improvement project of Xining to Golmud section of Qinghai-Tibet Railway was started in July 2022. The project starts from Xining, capital of Qinghai Province in the east, passes through Haiyan County and Delingha City to Golmud City in the west, with a total length of 759.78km and an existing maximum speed of 140km/h.

After the Fuxing EMU is officially put into operation on July 1, the speed of the Xig section of the Qinghai-Tibet Railway will be increased to 160 kilometers per hour, and the operation time of the whole line can be controlled within 6 hours, which will effectively expand the railway transportation supply and improve the transportation capacity and efficiency of the whole line of the Qinghai-Tibet Railway.

According to the introduction of CRRC, the new CR200J Fuxing EMU, which is put into operation with passengers, is jointly developed and produced by CRRC Zhuji Company and CRRC Puzhen Company under CRRC Organization. There are 9 carriages in total, which can accommodate more than 600 passengers. After official operation, four bullet trains will be operated every day between Xining and Golmud to meet the travel demand of passengers.

The CR200J power concentrated EMU of Sig Line is in the form of 1 - 8 traction power, with a total traction power of 7200kW and stronger traction power, with a maximum speed of 160km/h.

The train painting consists of three main colors: "China Red,""National Sophora Green" and "Great Wall Gray." It is one of the "net red" models in the whole series of EMU of Fuxing in China.

CTOnews.com inquired about public information and learned that Qinghai-Tibet Railway starts from Xining, capital of Qinghai Province, goes west through Huangyuan and Haiyan, circles along the northern edge of Qinghai Lake, passes Delingha to Xitieshan, turns south and parallels with National Highway 315 to Golmud in Qaidam Basin. Climb Mount Kunlun from Golmud to the south, cross Hoh Xil, pass Fenghuo Mountain and Tanggula Mountain, enter Amdo, Nagqu and Dangxiong in Xizang, and finally arrive at Lhasa, capital of Tibet Autonomous Region.

At present, the Qinghai-Tibet Railway operates at 140 km/h (Xining to Golmud) and 100 km/h (Golmud to Lhasa). After speeding up, the Xining to Golmud section will reach the maximum design speed of 160 kilometers per hour, while the Golmud-Lhasa section cannot speed up again because the maximum design speed is only 100 kilometers per hour.
