CTOnews.com June 25 news, Hitachi production recently held a shareholders' meeting, president Kei Kojima denied the possibility of funding the next-generation semiconductor manufacturer Rapidas, but said it would cooperate in areas such as improving production efficiency.

▲ source: Hitachi said at the shareholders' meeting that Hitachi would prefer to work closely with Rapidus in manufacturing, inspection equipment and other areas rather than providing financial support to Rapidus. Hitachi will provide Rapidus with Hitachi products, such as semiconductor manufacturing equipment and technology, to help Rapidus improve advanced semiconductor processes and manufacturing processes.

Hitachi pointed out that not only Rapidus, but also Hitachi is willing to cooperate with all manufacturers that increase investment in the semiconductor sector in Japan. According to reports, Rapidus, a foundry service provider headquartered in Chiyoda District, Tokyo, was established in August 2022 with the support of eight companies, including Sony, Shexia and Toyota, with the goal of building a 2nm pilot production line in 2025 and mass production in 2027.
