CTOnews.com, June 25, LastPass users have been experiencing login problems since they received a request to reset their authenticator in early May this year.

LastPass announced a security upgrade on May 9, requiring users to log back in to their LastPass accounts and reset their Multi-Factor Authentication (MFA) preferences.

Many LastPass users reported that after resetting MFA applications such as LastPass Authenticator, Microsoft Authenticator, Google Authenticator, etc., the account is still locked and cannot access the LastPass password library.

To make matters worse, LastPass officials have not provided effective help so far, and the after-sales staff only emphasize that login can be operated. In front of the user, the reset MFA authenticator can not enter the LastPass, and ask for help to log in to the account, fall into such a dead cycle.

LastPass said that users are required to reset MFA applications, mainly to upgrade the master password encryption algorithm and use PBKDF2, which is stronger than the typical version, to improve the security of the master password.

LastPass says users must log in to the LastPass website in a browser and re-register your MFA application before they can access LastPass on a mobile device again.
