The banana pie BPI-R4 motherboard is equipped with MediaTek MT7988A (Filogic 880). The processor uses four clock frequencies as the ARM Corex-A73 design core of 1.8GHz.

The motherboard is equipped with 4GB DDR4 memory, 8GB eMMC, onboard 128MB SPI-NAND flash memory, 2 10 Gigabit SFP fiber ports and 4 gigabit network ports.

The motherboard is equipped with USB3.2 ports, M.2 slots support 4G / 5G / NVME SSD, and two miniPCIe slots that support PCIe 3.0 dual channels can be used to extend Wi-Fi 7 support.

Banana pie plans to launch BPI-R4 in the first quarter of 2024 and is expected to support Debian and Openwrt. The exact price has not been disclosed.
