Shulou(Shulou.com)11/24 Report--
Thank you, Mr. Air, CTOnews.com netizen, for the delivery of the clues on the way! CTOnews.com, June 25 (Xinhua) Washington State is planning to require electric vehicle charging companies to support Tesla's charging standard NACS as a condition of providing federal subsidies to these companies, a Washington state official told Reuters. This also means that after Texas, another American administrative state has adopted NACS as a mandatory standard.
▲ Tuyuan PexelsCTOnews.com previously reported that the US government had launched a $7.5 billion subsidy program to promote highway electrification, but the plan required charging companies to support the central government-led CCS charging standards. However, federal money flows to the grass roots through states, so states have the right to increase restrictions on the use of funds based on the minimum requirements of the central government.
Because Tesla's headquarters and a new car factory are located in Texas, Texas has previously become the first state in the United States to force the use of NACS standards. At that time, some industry insiders pointed out that this move would exert a great influence on other states and promote the acceleration of NACS standards into a unified standard in North America.
"I am very pleased that NACS and carmakers are finally moving towards a unified standard, and we want to provide as many brands and models as possible that support NACS," said Tonia Buell, who is in charge of alternative fuel projects for the Washington State Department of Transportation.
Buell says the state is considering how to implement the plan. The existing U.S. government subsidy policy requires that every eligible charging station must be equipped with at least four CCS chargers, and Washington State is considering requiring at least two or all four of them to work with NACS. The state plans to begin a process of soliciting advice on the matter this fall.
