CTOnews.com June 22, Microsoft has discovered a new Win11 vulnerability, confirming that KB5026372 will cause abnormal CPU occupancy in File Explorer. The temporary solution is to restart and promise to release a fix update at the end of this month.

According to reports, this vulnerability affects all versions of Win11, including 21H2 and 22H2.

Microsoft said the vulnerability could break certain parts of File Explorer and cause CPU usage to be higher than normal after installing KB5026372.

According to Microsoft, this problem occurs when users try to check for valid access permissions in the Advanced Security Settings dialog box for shared files or folders.

You may see "calculating valid access..." when you click the "View valid access" button on the affected PC. Reminders do not display query results, and continue to consume CPU resources even after closing the Advanced Security Settings dialog box.

In response to this issue, Microsoft said it was unlikely to affect "regular customers" who use Windows 11 PC at home. Microsoft says you can temporarily solve the problem by restarting your computer or logging out and then logging back in. CTOnews.com must remind you here that locking down Windows alone won't solve the problem.

Microsoft said it was working to address the problem and promised to release a permanent fix later this month.
