The Liangshan Tunnel in the Sichuan-Chongqing section of the controlled project has been successfully completed, and the Huafu Bridge has completed the last hole section assembly beam erection, laying a solid foundation for the line to be completed and opened to traffic on schedule.

According to CTOnews.com inquiry, the Chongqing-Kunming high-speed railway is an important part of the Beijing-Kunming Corridor, one of the main channels of the "eight vertical and eight horizontal" high-speed railways in China. The line starts from the Chongqing West Railway Station, passes through Chongqing, Sichuan, Guizhou and Yunnan provinces, and connects to Kunming South Railway Station with a total length of 699km and a design speed of 350km per hour.

The railway department said that after the project is completed and put into operation, it will further improve the national comprehensive three-dimensional transportation network, strengthen the links between the Chengdu-Chongqing economic circle and central Yunnan, greatly reduce the railway travel time from Chongqing to Kunming, improve people's travel conditions along the line, and effectively promote high-quality and sustainable economic and social development in the areas along the line.
