CTOnews.com, June 21, Mercedes-Benz recently launched two recalls in the United States, involving some EQE, EQS and EQS SUV pure electric vehicles and S580e plug-in hybrid vehicles sold locally, with a total of 15839 vehicles recalled according to the National Highway Traffic Safety Administration (NHTSA).

‎ CTOnews.com noted that one of the recalls was due to a failure of the software management response logic and the probability of causing the electric drive system to be deactivated, which would eventually cause the vehicle to lose propulsion and increase the risk of collision. In terms of specific ‎ models, 2022-23 Mercedes-Benz EQS 450s are the most affected, with 5051 cars, followed by 2022 EQS 580s with 2736 cars, and 2022-23 AMG EQS models with a total of 492 cars.

In addition, 2023 Mercedes-Benz EQS 580SUV and 2023 AMG EQE models were also affected, but only one car in each model was affected.

Car owners will need to make an appointment with an authorized dealer to solve the problem of the vehicle's electric transmission system through software updates.

At about the same time, Mercedes-Benz launched another recall because of potential failures in its ESP system, involving EQS 450s, EQS 580s and S580e models.

According to NHTSA, under certain conditions, ESP monitoring software may misjudge the fault condition, which will limit the function of the vehicle dynamic control system (ABS, ASR, ESP and EBD), and the speedometer will be forced to zero. However, at this time, the vehicle is still driving at the actual speed, there is a risk of collision.

A total of 7558 vehicles were affected by the ‎ recall, including 4285 2022 EQS 450s and 2522 2022 EQS 580s. In addition, there are 488 S580e models that need to be recalled.
