Thanks to CTOnews.com netizens Wu Yanzu in South China for the delivery of clues! CTOnews.com, June 21 (Xinhua)-- maintenance team iFixit today released a video of Apple's 2023 Mac Pro dismantling, saying that the overall aluminum chassis and internal structure remain basically the same, but the M2 Ultra processor has been reequipped with a huge radiator.

CTOnews.com attached the video as follows:

IFixit says it's easy to remove the shell, but it's troublesome to upgrade the internal components. The disassembly process found that the user could not upgrade the memory, but a replaceable enclosure was hidden internally and there was an empty slot. However, iFixit confirmed from Apple that the empty slot does not allow users to expand themselves, and users need to configure it through Apple's official website.

The dismantling also shows that Apple is using the same powerful cooling solution as the Intel version, indicating that the company is reusing existing parts.

The iFixit team found that Apple used the same large motherboard as the previous Intel Mac Pro to drive the M2 Ultra chip. The team believes that Apple's M2 Ultra chip does not need such a large motherboard to support, small motherboard is enough to drive.
