CTOnews.com June 21, Epic Games demonstrated the new "Electric Dreams" effect when introducing Unreal engine 5 at GDC 2023. Epic announced today that it is available in the form of a sample project, where anyone can download and view features such as the content generation framework and Substrate.

CTOnews.com attached an official introduction as follows:

In this year's GDC State of Unreal, we demonstrated for the first time an experimental new feature that will be included in the upcoming version 5.2 of Unreal engine. The demo, called "Electric Dreams", shows the latest developments in the programmatic content Generation Framework (PCG), the new material production system Substrate, and the physical system.

In the "Electric Dreams" environment sample project, you can explore the jungle environment where the demonstration is built with only a small number of Quixel assets. PCG can use these assets to fill the world quickly and seamlessly and adjust in real time to the way games or other requirements are played.

In addition to PCG, the example includes an Substrate Opal shader ball and demonstrates other UE5 features such as Lumen, Nanite, and Soundscape.

This example contains seven levels to help users better explore and understand PCG tools.
