CTOnews.com June 21, Microsoft recently invited Microsoft 365 Preview experience members to test a feature of the Excel PivotTable that allows images and other content to be inserted.

Microsoft says Excel can handle a variety of data types, and cells also support embedding images, but PivotTable reports have previously been limited to text descriptions in these content formats.

Now PivotTable can insert image cards, data type icons, data type cards and other related data types, and users can interact with the source data directly.

CTOnews.com attaches an example from Microsoft's official blog post that embeds an image of a table, chair or other furniture in a PivotTable report.

In another example, the relevant data can be filtered based on the national flags of different countries.

Microsoft suggests that the new Excel PivotTable can control more application scenarios, including product sales summaries, portfolios, sports team analysis, and even art or hobby collections.
