The new chip belongs to the Cisco SiliconOne series, and five of the six major cloud computing providers are already testing the chip, but Cisco did not give a specific name for the company. In the American market, AWS, Microsoft Azure and Google Cloud are the rulers of cloud computing.

AI applications are becoming more and more popular, and ChatGPT has become a pioneer. ChatGPT is supported by a network of GPU professional chips. The faster the communication speed of a single chip, the better.

Cisco is a major supplier of network equipment, and its Ethernet switches are recognized by the market. Now Cisco has launched a new generation of switches, the G200 and G202, which can double the performance of the previous generation and connect up to 32000 GPU together.

"the G200 and G202 will be the most powerful network chips on the market, supporting AI / ML loads and helping to build the most energy-efficient networks," said Rakesh Chopra, a Cisco researcher.

According to Cisco, when the new chip performs AI and machine learning tasks, the number of exchanges is reduced by 40%, the delay time is reduced, and it is more energy-efficient.

Broadcom also launched the Jericho3-AI chip in April, which can connect up to 32000 GPU chips together.
