Apple has also optimized the System Configuration process for iPhone repairs such as displays, batteries and cameras.

To put it simply, System Configuration is a post-maintenance software tool that ensures that users are using authentic parts approved and tested by Apple for repair and that the parts work properly after maintenance. The tool will be provided free of charge to all users involved in self-maintenance and to Apple service providers.

When you run System Configuration, you can verify that the purchased parts are genuine, and you can update the firmware and calibrate the components to ensure that the performance quality is maximized.

In addition, for repairs involving biometric authentication (such as Touch ID or Face ID), System Configuration can connect biosensors to security quarantines on the motherboard to ensure device security and customer privacy.

It's worth mentioning that Apple now also allows users to launch System Configuration by putting the device in diagnostic mode and following the prompts, eliminating the need to contact the self-service support team to complete the final step, but the team can still help users as needed.

Apple also announced that the self-service service will provide support for True Depth cameras and top speakers on iPhone 12 and iPhone 13 series and Mac desktops with M1 chips in the United States, Belgium, France, Germany, Italy, Poland, Spain, Sweden and the United Kingdom.
