CTOnews.com June 20, Broadcom today announced the launch of a second-generation Wi-Fi 7 wireless connectivity solution covering Wi-Fi routers, enterprise and client devices.

It is reported that last year Broadcom launched BCM67263 for residential AP, BCM43740 for corporate AP and BCM4398 for client devices.

This year, Broadcom's new chips are the BCM6765, BCM47722 and BCM4390. BCM6765 and BCM47722 are for residential and commercial Wi-Fi platforms, respectively, supporting 2.4GHz, 5GHz and 6GHz bands, supporting Dual 2x2, and transmission rates up to 8.64 Gbps. The enterprise Wi-Fi platform BCM47722 also integrates Bluetooth and Zigbee / 802.15.4 support to meet the needs of the Internet of things. Both platforms are equipped with quad-core ARMv8 CPU and 10G PHY.

The client scheme is BCM4390, which can replace the BCM4398 introduced last year and supports 2.4 GHz and 5 GHz or 6 GHz bands, but the channel width can be reduced from 320 MHz to 160 MHz. The PHY rate is 3.2Gbps. In addition, BCM4390 integrates Bluetooth Denver, Thread and Zigbee support. The new BCM4390 also supports Broadcom's proprietary SpeedBooster technology.

Broadcom said it was currently providing samples of its second-generation Wi-Fi 7 chips to retail, corporate and other customers.

The parameters of the three chips attached to CTOnews.com are as follows:
