On the day when the freshmen checked in, I walked on Cherry Blossom Avenue for the first time. The sunny and picturesque cherry garden buildings by the roadside were simple and elegant, majestic and magnificent. I fell in love with Wu University at once.

During the four years of Wuhan University, the most unforgettable thing is that when I was a freshman, I read a book in the library called Silicon Valley Fire, which helped me build a lifelong dream.

Students, as seniors, first of all, I would like to extend to you the most sincere and warmest congratulations on successfully completing your studies and embarking on a new journey in life!

Everyone must be very excited and a little nervous at the same time. In fact, compared with us at that time, at this moment, you have knowledge and vision that we could not imagine before, but also face a vast and complex world that we could not imagine before.

First, believe in yourself, everyone's life has unlimited possibilities! I majored in computer software at Wu University, and I love programming very much. I also thought that I would be a programmer all my life. In fact, my life is like this:

As soon as I graduated, I participated in the start-up of Kingsoft and became a programmer as I wish.

When I was 28 years old, I made Jinshan CEO. It's really not that I'm good. It was just an accident. At that time, the board of directors didn't find the right person, so they decided to let me take the top spot. In this way, I went from a programmer to a management position.

When I was 31 years old, I founded Zhuoyue and became an e-commerce business.

When I was 40 years old, I founded Xiaomi and made a mobile phone.

At the age of 51, I decided to start a business for the last time in my life and make a car!

From software to e-commerce, and then to mobile phones, and then to cars, an unprecedented span, is an unprecedented difficulty. Every time I look back, I don't know where I got the courage. Students, it is really the courage given by Wu University. My first lesson at Wuhan University taught me the most important lesson in my life.

I still remember that 36 years ago, on the first night of freshmen's registration, I went to the new fourth floor for self-study. The next classroom was full of laughter and laughter, so I went to watch the hustle and bustle. At that time, the chemistry department was holding an orientation activity, and an old professor who had just returned from abroad was imparting experience. He said, "some students have enrolled in the chemistry department and are worried that it will be difficult to find a job in the future. Second, we should not only have dreams, but also goals that can be achieved step by step! In 2010, I founded Xiaomi, determined to be the best mobile phone in the world.

This is a crazy dream, how to do it? At that time, I didn't know much about hardware, so I started with the software and worked on the operating system first. The operating system is very complex, and the amount of engineering is still quite large, so we decided to do the four most commonly used functions first.

In this way, the first version of MIUI was made in just two months.

After we have done it, we are not in a hurry to promote it, but first find 100 users and let these 100 people use it.

In this way, a seemingly unreliable dream is broken down into goals that can be achieved step by step.

Students, the same is true of life, the road is step by step, connected, is our growth journey. Reasonably set one goal after another, these goals are not too big at first, but the continuous achievement of these goals is the source of our sense of achievement and happiness.
