CTOnews.com, June 20, European automotive giant Stellantis announced today that it will form a joint venture with Hon Hai Group, SiliconAuto, which will begin to provide automotive semiconductor design and sales services to customers in the automotive industry, including Strandis, from 2026.

Mr Strandis said in a press release that the company and Hon Hai would each hold a 50 per cent stake in SiliconAuto. SiliconAuto will provide customers with semiconductor resources focused on the automotive industry, especially the computer control functions and modules needed for electric vehicles.

Ned Curic, CTO of Strantis, said: "our goal is to build vehicles that connect seamlessly with our customers' daily lives and still provide first-class services and functions many years after the car leaves the assembly line. Through SiliconAuto, we can achieve targeted innovation through efficient partnerships."

Jerry Hsiao, chief product officer of Hon Hai Group, said: "We look forward to providing resource integration for our partners at SiliconAuto to achieve an extraordinary electric vehicle travel experience."

CTOnews.com previously reported that Strandis reached an agreement with Hon Hai in December 2021 to develop a range of semiconductor products for automobiles. In addition to SiliconAuto, Strandis has previously formed a joint venture with Hon Hai Group, Mobile Drive, which focuses on developing intelligent cockpit systems made up of consumer electronics, human-computer interface and supporting services.
