CTOnews.com, June 20 (Xinhua) according to Bloomberg, Softbank Corp. Group CEO Masayoshi son said he "talked to OpenAI CEO Sam Altman several times a week" and said he used ChatGPT every day and was a "loyal user" of generative artificial intelligence services.

On June 12, Sam Altman said he had met with Masayoshi son to discuss business cooperation and other issues. This is his second visit to Japan in recent months. In April this year, Altman met with Japanese government officials and said he would set up an office in Japan.

It is worth mentioning that son will attend the annual shareholders' meeting of Softbank Corp. Group on Wednesday, local time, which will be his first public appearance in seven months and the first time in four years that he will personally chair the shareholders' meeting. He had said goodbye to the earnings call and focused on helping chip design subsidiary Arm go public.

CTOnews.com notes that the outlook for Arm's IPO has recently become clear because of the hype surrounding generative artificial intelligence and negotiations with potential investors, including Intel. Arm is seeking to raise as much as $10 billion, and brokerages are raising Softbank Corp. 's target share price.

So far, Softbank Corp. 's share price has risen about 25% in the second quarter, its best quarterly performance in three years.
