CTOnews.com, June 19 (Xinhua)-- US cyber security company Palo Alto Networks has warned that it has found malicious Android apps that mimic ChatGPT. At the same time, the company warned that as of June 19, ChatGPT's official app is only available for iPhone, and there are no Android clients for the time being.

The first is a Trojan horse disguised as a "SuperGPT" app, and the second is malware disguised as a "ChatGPT" app that charges fraudulent fees by sending text messages to Thai phone numbers. The company has reported these malicious applications to Google, and Google Play will block these malicious applications soon.

Palo Alto also said that Android devices using Google Play services are protected by "Google Play Protect" from these apps. The company urges users to be aware of the possible security risks of obtaining apps from third-party app stores that lack similar protection.

In addition, Palo Alto confirmed that there has been an increase in the use of fraudulent websites such as "ChatGPT" or other misleading domain names.

CTOnews.com previously reported that OpenAI launched an iOS version of the ChatGPT app last month and received more than 500,000 downloads in just six days. But so far, the company has not launched an Android version of the app.
