Recently, the local government in Kobe has provided volunteers with a mobile App with patrol routes planned by AI to help them efficiently complete patrols and reduce the incidence of crime.

At the same time, the app can also display crime prediction maps based on crime occurrence information released by the police, which can be used as a reference for volunteers to pass by.

During the patrol, if volunteers find graffiti or illegal garbage dumping, they can take pictures in the app and share it with all volunteers, and they can also share information in real time to actively prevent criminal activities. The Kobe municipal government said it would decide whether to fully introduce the technology in the future through the verification of volunteers.

CTOnews.com previously reported that the Japanese capital Tokyo will fully introduce AI into municipal work in August this year, while Yokosuka City, Kanagawa Prefecture, Japan has taken the lead in opening the government-wide generative AI application. Similar plans have been carried out in Nagano Prefecture, Tsukuba City, Ibaraki Prefecture, Kobe City and other places.
