CTOnews.com, June 19 (Xinhua)-- Startup Genome, a US policy consulting and research institute, released the Global Entrepreneurship ecosystem report 2023 (GSER2023) on June 15. This is also the 11th year in a row that the agency has released a report that focuses on the entrepreneurial environment of the world's major cities, scoring and ranking six items, including the number of successful start-ups and the amount of financing.

CTOnews.com notes from the rankings that Silicon Valley, London and New York have been in the top three since 2020, with London and New York tied for second place for the third year in a row.

Boston and Beijing both fell two places compared to 2022, ranking 6th and 7th respectively in 2023. Accordingly, Los Angeles and Tel Aviv (Israel) both moved up two places from 2022 to 4th and 5th.

The city that has made the biggest progress this year is Singapore (CTOnews.com, the capital of the Republic of Singapore), ranking No. 18 in 2022, advancing 10 places to No. 8 in 2023, and entering the top 10 for the first time.

Miami also improved by 10 places, ranking 33rd in 2022 and in the top 30 in 2023.

The ranking of other major cities in China is as follows: Shenzhen fell 12 places to 35th, Shanghai dropped 1 place to 9th, and Hangzhou ranked 38th.
