During this period, the official introduced and released the development and layout of integrated circuit industry in Binhai New area and the new technology of Changdian Shaoxing, held the mass production ceremony of SMIC Phase 3 12-inch pilot line and the 10000 wafer off-line ceremony, nine investment promotion and industrial cooperation projects were signed on the spot, and five experts and scholars gave keynote speeches in combination with their respective research fields.

Shaoxing announced that at present, Shaoxing has formed a relatively complete integrated circuit industry chain, and the industrial scale has exceeded 50 billion yuan in 2022.

On May 31 this year, SMIC announced that it and its subsidiary SMIC Pioneer and Shaoxing Binhai New area Core Rui Fund signed the "Investment Agreement of SMIC Vanguard Integrated Circuit Manufacturing (Shaoxing) Co., Ltd." to invest in the construction of SMIC Shaoxing Phase III 12-inch featured process wafer manufacturing pilot line project (planned to complete construction this year), mainly producing IGBT, SJ and other power chips, HVIC (BCD) and other power driver chips.

According to reports, the total investment of the project reached 4.2 billion yuan, of which the registered capital was 3 billion yuan. Among them, the company subscribed for 2.21 billion yuan to increase the registered capital by 2.21 billion yuan, with a total investment of 2.25 billion yuan, accounting for 75% of the registered capital after the increase.

CTOnews.com learned from the official announcement that the project will be used to build a pilot test line that integrates R & D and monthly production of 10,000 12-inch IC characteristic process wafers for small-scale engineering, domestic verification and production verification, and plans to complete the pilot line construction in 2023.

At the same time, SMIC Pioneer signed a "settlement agreement" with the management committee of Shaoxing Binhai New area. SMIC Pioneer intends to seek greater development in Binhai New area, and plans to implement mass production projects on the basis of the third phase of 12-inch pilot projects. It is expected that in the next two to three years, SMIC Shaoxing Phase III 12-inch digital-analog hybrid integrated circuit chip manufacturing project with a total investment of 22.2 billion yuan and a monthly production capacity of 100,000 thousand chips.
