CTOnews.com, June 17 (Xinhua) Microsoft CEO Satya Nadella (Satya Nadella) interviewed Wired's Steven Levy earlier this week to discuss Microsoft's artificial intelligence plan and his views on generative AI.

Levy asked Nadella how Microsoft decided to bet on generative AI and why it made a big investment.

Nadella said that after the upgrade from GPT 2.5 to GPT 3, Microsoft realized the far-reaching impact of generative AI and believed that more could be achieved by making good use of the technology.

In the interview, Nadella talked about the Eureka moment when the GPT-3 model helped him realize one of his childhood dreams. Growing up in the Indian state of Hyderabad, he always wanted to read Persian poetry. Through this model, he was able to translate Rumi's works into Urdu and then into English.

Nadella said in an interview: "GPT-4 is further improved, not just machine translation, but to retain the charm of poetry across the boundary between two languages, which is so cool."
