CTOnews.com, June 16, according to the Nikkei Chinese website, perovskite batteries, which are regarded as the model of the next generation of photovoltaic cells, are becoming an important driver of energy transformation in various countries, but this technology first invented by Japan has been first mass-produced in China.

▲ source Dazheng micro-nanotechnology perovskite photovoltaic cells are thin and flexible, and can also be set on the wall and roof, which can not be realized by traditional silicon photovoltaic cells. Because the manufacturing process is simple, the material can be used to dry, and the price is about half cheaper than silicon photovoltaic cells.

This kind of battery was first invented by Miyazaka, a special professor at Yokohama University in Tongyin, Japan. It is very suitable for Japan, where there are many mountainous areas and it is difficult to lay traditional photovoltaic panels on a large scale. But at present, it is China that takes the lead in mass production technology. For example, Dazheng Micro / Nano Technology has invested 80 million yuan in Jiangsu to set up a production line with an annual production capacity of 10,000 kilowatts, which began mass production last summer and is expected to reach 10 times that of last year.

As it costs a lot of money to apply for patents abroad, Professor Miyazaka has only applied for some basic patents in Japan, which also makes it unnecessary for companies producing outside Japan to pay patent royalties, which lays a foundation for the mass production advantage of Chinese manufacturers.

In Japan, Seepwater Chemical Industry and KANEKA plan to mass produce perovskite photovoltaic cells after 2025, and Toshiba and Ericsson also have commercial plans. But Mr Miyazaka said "the big Japanese electronics manufacturers that were supposed to lead the field were slow to move".

According to a report released by Bloomberg New Energy Finance (BloombergNEF), a US research firm, investment by companies and financial institutions in low-carbon energy technologies such as renewable energy and nuclear power reached a record high of $1.11 trillion in 2022 (CTOnews.com Note: currently about 7.91 trillion yuan). Of this, China's investment is 76 trillion yen (currently about 3.86 trillion yuan), accounting for about half, while the United States, Germany, France and the United Kingdom rank second and fifth respectively, while Japan ranks sixth with 3 trillion yen (currently about 152.4 billion yuan).
