According to reports, the completely unmanned test area includes self-driving public test roads such as the Deep Water Port Logistics Park and the East China Sea Bridge, with a total route of about 62 kilometers. It includes traffic light identification, on-ramp and off-ramp, changing lane driving, avoiding emergency lane vehicles, responding to lane partial road closure and foggy crosswind weather and other scenes.

The fully unmanned test is carried out by the self-driving system independently developed by Tucson in the future, with no safe drivers, no remote control of the vehicle and no intervention in other traffic conditions.

Tucson Future said that the Tucson China completely unmanned test project lasted more than two years and was committed to developing an autopilot system that meets the requirements of SAE L4 and ensuring its redundancy, reliability and stability to achieve fully unmanned and safe operation on the open road.

On June 6, 2023, Tucson announced that it would enter the Japanese market and began self-driving tests on the Dongming highway connecting Japan's three major metropolitan areas. It is reported that the trunk line is one of the most important trunk logistics transportation routes in Japan.
