CTOnews.com, June 16 (Xinhua)-- Apple today launched a developer preview version of iOS / iPadOS 16.6 Beta 3 update (build number: 20G5047d) to iPhone and iPad users, 15 days after the last release.

Apple's current development focus has been on the upcoming iOS / iPadOS 17 and macOS 14 systems, so this public beta version does not introduce many new features, mainly on repairing BUG, improving performance and improving background stability.

IOS / iPadOS 16.6 update range is small, users who have signed up for Apple's free Beta test program can open the "Settings" application, go to "General", select "Software Update", click "beta update", and then select the iOS 16 open beta option to enable the beta.

CTOnews.com queried the official update log and found only two known issues with Home and Xcode:

When Home users open a new version of the Home app and select accessories that support pairing in the nearby accessories list, pairing the first Matter fitting will fail.

Temporary solution: the first Matter device can be paired by scanning the QR QR code, and subsequent Matter accessories can be paired using a nearby accessories list.

Xcode: starting with iOS 16.6, after running the attributedText of UILabel, the negative value of NSBaselineOffsetAttributeName will return to its behavior before 16.3, that is, lowering the text position within the label boundary.

Open Settings Application

Access common settin

Click on the software update

Wait a few seconds, and the page will refresh and show available updates.

Click to download and install.

After carefully reading the terms of service, agree to the terms of service.

Before completing the download and starting the installation, make sure that your iPhone is connected to power or has sufficient power.

Upgrade to iOS / iPadOS 16.6 Beta 3 when the installation is complete.
