CTOnews.com June 16 news, Apple released last year iOS / iPadOS 16 and macOS Ventura introduced "Lockdown Mode"(Lockdown Mode), in the upcoming iOS 17 and watchOS 10 systems, paired Apple Watch can also enable "Lock Mode."

Apple says Lock Mode provides an "extreme" level of security, with strict restrictions on apps, websites and features.

CTOnews.com attaches Apple's official introduction to "lock mode" as follows:

Lockout Mode is an optional extreme protection mode designed for a very small number of individuals who may be targeted by some of the most sophisticated digital threats because of their identity or work. Most people are never targeted by such attacks.

When Lock Mode is enabled, some apps and features change how they work, including:

Messages-Most types of information attachments are blocked, except for certain images, videos, and audio. Some features, such as links and link previews, are unavailable.

Web browsing-Some complex web technologies are blocked, which may cause some websites to load slowly or not function properly. In addition, web page fonts may not be displayed and images may be replaced by missing image icons.

FaceTime calls- FaceTime calls will be blocked unless you have previously called someone.

Apple Services-Incoming invitations to Apple Services (such as inviting you to manage your family in the Family App) are blocked unless you have invited them before.

Shared Albums-Shared albums will be removed from the Photos App and new shared album invitations will be blocked. You can still view these shared albums on other devices that don't have Lock Mode enabled. After you turn off Lock Mode, you need to turn on Shared Albums again in your device settings.

Device Connection-To connect your iPhone or iPad to an accessory or another computer, you need to unlock the device. To connect a Mac laptop with Apple chips to an accessory, you need to unlock the Mac and provide explicit approval.

Profile-Profile cannot be installed and devices cannot be registered in Mobile Device Management or Device Supervision in Lockout Mode.

Phone calls and plain text messages continue to work when Lock Mode is enabled. Emergency contact functions (e.g. SOS emergency call) are not affected.
