Godson released a new Linux patch yesterday, indicating that the Godson 3A6000 processor will support simultaneous multithreading (SMT) technology. Similar to the common Intel, AMD, and POWER processors, SMT doubles the number of logical cores in the form of four cores and eight threads.

From the currently known information, Godson 3A6000 main frequency for 2.5GHz, using four-core, dual DDR4-3200 memory channel design, SPEC CPU2006 single-thread fixed-point base score more than 40 points, floating-point score more than 50 points, multi-thread fixed-point score more than 140 points, floating-point score more than 130 points.

Godson Zhongke believes that the performance of 3A6000 is comparable to the Zen 2 of 7nm's AMD, which is equivalent to the level of the tenth generation of Intel.

In addition, the official test found that there is a certain gap between the Godson GCC compiler and the GCC compiler of X86, and the number of dynamic instructions in many applications is obviously higher than that of X86. It is estimated that the running score will be further improved after compilation optimization.

Godson stressed: Godson will continue to improve the main frequency, but will not follow the current Intel technical route of sacrificing efficiency for frequency, and strive to continuously reduce cost and power consumption at the 3GHz level.

It is worth mentioning that the next generation of Godson 3A6000 will be 3B6000, with four big, four small and eight core designs and built-in self-developed GPU. Large cores strive to improve performance by more than 20% through structural optimization, but officials think it is difficult.

Godson will also adopt more advanced technology to develop 3A7000 or 3B7000 on the basis of 3B6000. Technical preparation work for more advanced technology will be carried out in the second half of the year (as Godson insists on self-developing IP, it will take about one year to customize memory interface, PCIE interface and other PHY).
