CTOnews.com, June 15, Intel today announced a major upgrade of the Core brand, dividing it into the new Intel Core Ultra for the flagship and the Intel Core processor brand for mainstream products.

Intel said that the upcoming Meteor Lake processor is a revolutionary generation of products, from which the brand will use a whole new way of naming.

As shown in the figure above, the processors of the Meteor Lake architecture to be released this year will be named using the Intel ®Core ™Ultra, available in Ultra 5, Ultra 7 and Ultra 9 levels.

In addition, Intel today confirmed that it will launch an upgrade of the 13-generation Core Raptor Lake. The naming of the series is slightly more complex, and the Raptor Lake U series upgrade will be named after Intel Core Gen 1 processors or Intel Core Gen 1 processors, with a model rating of 3-5-7, without an "I" prefix that has been used for years.

For feverish laptops and desktops, the Raptor Lake HX / S series upgrade will be named "Intel Core processor (Generation 14)" and will provide i3 / i5 / i7 / i9 model ratings, and will continue to use the logo used since the 11th generation on the device.
