Shulou(Shulou.com)06/03 Report--
This paper takes cloud computing as an example to analyze the concept and functional characteristics of cloud computing. Reading the complete article, I believe you have a certain understanding of cloud computing and the functional features of cloud computing.
Concept
Cloud computing is an information technology (IT) model that provides ready access to shared configurable system resource pools and more advanced services, which can usually be quickly provisioned over the Internet with minimal administrative effort. Cloud computing relies on resource sharing to achieve consistency and economies of scale, similar to utilities.
History of development
In 1983, Sun Microsystems proposed that "the network is a computer" ("The Network is the"
Computer ").
In 2006, Amazon launched the elastic computing cloud.
In 2008, Google released the Google App Engine beta version.
In 2010, Microsoft released the Microsoft Azure announced in October 2008.
In 2011, Cisco Systems officially joined OpenStack, focusing on the development of OpenStack network services.
Functional features
Expandability
Cloud computing can improve the scalability of server configuration by reconfiguring, adding or expanding hardware infrastructure resources. When an enterprise's business grows and needs additional storage space and computing power, you can add the corresponding configuration in the console at any time, and the purchased physical servers can also be used in the server cluster at any time.
Low cost
Because the special fault-tolerant measures of "cloud" can use extremely cheap nodes to form the cloud, the automated and centralized management of "cloud" makes a large number of enterprises do not have to bear the increasingly high cost of data center management, and the versatility of "cloud" greatly improves the utilization of resources compared with traditional systems, so users can fully enjoy the low-cost advantage of "cloud". It often takes only a few hundred dollars and a few days to complete a task that used to cost tens of thousands of dollars and months.
Device and location independent
Cloud servers enable users to access the system using a web browser, regardless of their location or what device they use (such as PC, mobile phone). Because the infrastructure is not on site (usually provided by a third party) and accessed through the Internet, users can connect to it from anywhere.
The application is easy to maintain
Computing applications are easier to maintain because they do not need to be installed on each user's computer and can be accessed from different places (for example, different workplaces, travel locations, and so on).
Share resources
The storage, CPU, bandwidth, traffic and other resources in the server cluster are all shared, and any single server can be used, which increases the utilization of resources.
On-demand service
"Cloud" is a huge pool of resources that you buy on demand; clouds can be charged like tap water, electricity and gas.
Measurement service
Cloud systems can monitor, control, and report on resource usage, providing transparency to providers and consumers who use services.
Potential danger
In addition to providing computing services, cloud computing services must also provide storage services. Cloud computing only isolates data in the software layer and is shared in the hardware layer, so when vulnerabilities in the same physical server are exploited, the data of different users on the physical machine may be leaked.
Service model
Infrastructure as a Service (IaaS)
IaaS cloud providers provide these resources on demand through large pools of equipment installed in the data center. For wide area connections, customers can use the Internet or service provider cloud (private virtual private network). To deploy applications, cloud users install operating system images and their application software on the cloud infrastructure. In this model, cloud users repair and maintain operating systems and applications. Cloud providers typically provide bills to IaaS services based on public computing: the cost reflects the amount of resources allocated and used.
Consumers can deploy and run any software, including operating systems and applications. Consumers do not manage or control the underlying cloud infrastructure, but have control over the operating system, stored and deployed applications; and may have limited control over selected network components, such as host firewalls.
Platform as a Service (PaaS)
PaaS vendors provide a development environment for application developers. Providers typically develop toolkits and development standards as well as distribution and payment channels.
Consumers do not manage or control the underlying cloud infrastructure, including networks, servers, operating systems, or storage, but rather control the deployed applications and possible configuration settings of the application hosting environment.
Software as a Service (SaaS)
Cloud providers manage the infrastructure and platforms that run applications, install cloud user operations applications and access software from cloud clients.
The ability to provide consumers is to use provider applications running on the cloud infrastructure. Applications can be accessed from various client devices through a small client interface, such as a Web browser (for example, Web-based email) or a program interface. Consumers do not manage or control the underlying cloud infrastructure that includes network, server, operating system, storage and even individual application functions, with the possible exception of limited user-specific application configuration settings.
Deployment model
Private cloud
Private clouds (Private Clouds) are built for individual use by a single customer, thus providing the most effective control over data, security, and quality of service. The company has the infrastructure and can control how applications are deployed on this infrastructure. Private clouds can be deployed in the firewall of the enterprise data center or in a secure hosting location. The core attribute of the private cloud is proprietary resources.
Public cloud
When a service is presented over a publicly used network, the cloud is called a "public cloud". Public cloud services may be free. It is technically possible that there is little or no difference between public and private cloud architectures.
Hybrid cloud
A hybrid cloud is made up of two or more clouds (private, community, or public) that are still different entities, but bound together to provide the benefits of multiple deployment models, and hybrid clouds also mean that they will be paired, the ability to manage connections to cloud resources.
Trend
Cloud computing is still a research topic. One driver of the development of cloud computing is that the CTO seeks to minimize the risk of internal outages and reduce the complexity of housing networks and computing hardware. Major cloud technology companies invest billions of dollars in cloud computing research and development every year. In 2011, for example, Microsoft invested 90% of its $9.6 billion R & D budget in cloud computing.
So much for sharing about cloud computing. I hope the above content can help you to some extent and learn more knowledge. If you think the article is good, you can share it for more people to see.
