CTOnews.com, June 15 (Xinhua)-- Google announced yesterday that it will introduce a new generative AI technology for its online shopping tool, which can quickly generate fitting images of real-life models of different sizes, making it easier for users to know whether the clothes they want are suitable for their bodies.

Shyam Sunder, the Google product manager in charge of the virtual fitting function, said in a press release that the company had recruited 80 models (40 men and women) to build the feature: "AI can generate photos of models wearing corresponding clothes based on images on retailers' websites, and supports details such as folding, wrapping, stretching, wrinkles and shadows. It is difficult for users to tell from the naked eye that the image was generated by AI."

▲ source Google confirmed that the feature will initially apply to women's tops and will be extended to other categories in the future. When browsing, users can also search for similar products of the same size but with different prices, colors and patterns. Brands such as Anthropologie, Everlane, Himm and LOFT will be the first partners to adopt the service.
