As an editor and filmmaker with more than 900000 subscribers on YouTube, Sara Dietschy has produced a series of documentaries, review content and video blogs designed to explore how technology and creativity converge. The creator from Los Angeles will share the workflow helped by AI in this week's NVIDIA Studio Creative acceleration program. In her view, a word that happens to rhyme with her last name (Dietschy) is enough to describe the entire workflow: "Peachy".

In a recent video, Dietschy introduces five AI tools accelerated by NVIDIA Studio technology and shows how they can save her more than 100 hours of work.

She introduced a practical way to deal with the tedious and tedious work of non-linear editing with the help of tools running on the GeForce RTX 40 series design books. Dietschy says that with tools such as AI re-lighting and video text editing in Davinci Resolve software, she can save time on every project, and for creators, time is money.

The NVIDIA Studio team interviewed Dietschy to learn how she uses AI, how technology can simplify an artist's workflow, and how the NVIDIA Studio platform can enhance her creative and video editing workflow.

Studio team: what are the AI features you use most frequently?

Dietschy: in DaVinci Resolve, the AI features I use every day include text editing based on a neural network engine, automatic subtitle generation, magic masks, and scene detection. In addition, the re-lighting function in DaVinci Resolve is also great!

In addition, ChatGPT and Notion AI allow me to speed up copywriting on websites and social media posts so that I can focus on video editing.

Dietschy sometimes appears on the screen and sometimes disappears, which is the effect of the magic mask function in DaVinci Resolve.

Studio team: how do you use Adobe Premiere Pro?

Dietschy: in the beta version, I can quickly transcribe the entire podcast, and Premiere Pro can even detect clips without sound. Just click on three points in the text, and then click Delete, and AI can cut out the awkward pause, which is very convenient. So I don't have to check the video over and over again.

In addition, automatic reconstruction and non-sharpening masks in Premiere Pro are also popular AI features worth studying.

Studio team: what motivates you to use AI tools and features frequently?

Dietschy: what I can't stand most is that when a program comes out with powerful features, in order to use those features, I have to upload everything to the Web app or start a new workflow. If these features are added directly to the applications I use on a daily basis, then all my work will become more efficient, which is why I am used to using these features on a daily basis.

In DaVinci Resolve, you can use many AI features.

Studio team: why is GPU acceleration for creative applications important for non-technical people?

Dietschy: GPU acceleration is critical for video editors, especially GPU acceleration in DaVinci Resolve, because simply put, GPU enables functions and effects in creative applications to load more quickly. GPU acceleration helps you drag video clips and playback quickly and smoothly, as well as significantly reduce export time. My recent 4K podcast lasted more than an hour, but the Asustek Pro 14 OLED Studio design exported the entire podcast in less than 14 minutes. If you post new content every week, as I do, the time saved is as precious as gold.

The encoder (NVENC) accelerated by the NVIDIA GeForce RTX 4070 GPU can increase the video export speed by five times.

Studio team: would you recommend GeForce RTX GPU to other video editors?

Dietschy: of course. With a desktop computer with an excellent processor and NVIDIA GPU, my creative potential has been greatly unleashed. I was amazed at such a smooth creative workflow.

Studio team: what advice would you give yourself if you went back to the stage when you first started your creative work?

Dietschy: don't put too much emphasis on the number of works. Instead of doing so, take the time to make your creative process more organized and planned, because "create what you think of" sounds cool, but it's not a long-term solution. Organized creative flow has brought many benefits, enabling creators to have better sleep quality and a healthier state of mind.
