CTOnews.com, June 14, according to a CCTV report, the Shenzhou 16 astronaut crew has been in orbit for half a month. At present, the space station assembly is running stably. Astronauts Jing Haipeng, Zhu Yangzhu, and Gui Haichao are in good physical and mental condition, and are carrying out on-orbit work as planned.

CCTV pointed out that China's third batch of 18 astronauts have all passed the flight qualification assessment with excellent results, and all have the ability and conditions to carry out flight missions. CTOnews.com inquiry found that China's third batch of astronauts a total of 17 male astronauts and 1 female astronauts were selected, including 7 space pilots, 7 space flight engineers and 4 payload experts.

The China manned Space Engineering Office also released a new on-orbit video. The space station assembly is composed of Tianhe core module, Mengtian experimental module, Shenzhou-16 manned spacecraft, Tianzhou-5 and Tianzhou-6 cargo spacecraft.

According to the plan, the three astronauts of Shenzhou 16 will stay for about five months to carry out space science and application load in orbit experiments and tests, carry out astronaut extravehicular activities and cargo airlock exodus, carry out extravehicular load installation and space station maintenance and other tasks, and carry out "Tiangong classroom" space teaching activities.

09:31 on May 30, 2023, Beijing time, the long March II F Yao 16 carrier rocket carrying the Shenzhou 16 manned spacecraft was ignited and launched from the Jiuquan Satellite launch Center. About 10 minutes later, the Shenzhou 16 manned spacecraft successfully separated from the rocket and entered the scheduled orbit. The astronauts were in good condition on board, and the launch was a complete success.

China's space station has now entered the stage of application and development. Chinese astronauts will stay in the space station continuously for a long time, usually twice a year for group rotation and 1-2 times of material replenishment.

At present, Shenzhou XVI astronauts have been stationed in the "Heavenly Palace." During their stay in orbit, the Shenzhou 16 astronaut crew will usher in the visit and docking of the Shenzhou 17 manned spacecraft and plan to return to the Dongfeng landing site in November this year.

According to the basic introduction of the 2023 manned space mission released by the China manned Space Engineering Office, the Shenzhou 17 manned mission will be launched from the Jiuquan Satellite launch Center in October this year, and the flight crew is still composed of three astronauts. At that time, the two crew will be rotated in orbit.
