CTOnews.com AMD last night announced Bergamo, the fourth generation of the EPYC processor family, with up to 128 Zen 4c cores.

According to TechPowerUp's latest report, the Zen 4c core is not Intel's processor's E-core positioning. Zen 4c core is 35% smaller than Zen 4, but IPC is the same.

AMD Zen 4c is 35% smaller than Zen4.

According to AMD official PPT, AMD Zen 4c and Zen 4 are basically the same in various indicators, the difference is that Zen 4 core has 4MB L3 cache per core, while Zen 4c is 2MB.

AMD data shows that Zen 4c has exactly the same IPC (performance at a given frequency) as Zen 4 because its front-end, execution phase, load/store components, and internal cache hierarchy are identical.

According to CTOnews.com earlier report, AMD's latest Bergamo processor focuses more on "cloud computing at the commercial level," supports up to 128 Zen 4c cores, is compatible with x86 ISA instructions, and can relatively meet the application requirements of deep cloud computing. AMD President and CEO Su Zifeng said that the Bergamo processor, which focuses on "cloud computing," provides AMD's largest vCPU computing density and provides "the best energy efficiency" and "up to 2.7 times more energy efficiency and three times the number of containers than AMD's previous EPYC processor."

Earlier, it was reported that AMD's consumer mobile processor also had a "heterogeneous version," using a combination of Zen 4 + Zen 4c, which AMD has not yet launched.
