Shulou(Shulou.com)11/24 Report--

CTOnews.com June 14 news, in recent years, with the deepening of the trend of car electrification, the call for the resurrection of classic cars "incoming calls" remains high all over the world. Recently, the classic sports car Lutes Elise has reappeared in the public view in the form of electrification.

It is reported that the concept car, designed by former Jaguar design director Ian Callum and battery manufacturer Nyobolt, is temporarily named "Nyobolt EV". Its shape is taken care of by Julian Thomson, the designer who designed the Lutes Elise S1 sports car, so the car has a very similar appearance and posture to the Lutes Elise.

The Nyobolt EV is slightly longer and wider than the Lutes Elise, with a carbon fiber body and custom 19-inch alloy wheels. Its LED headlights also function as air intakes, while four LED taillights are integrated with air ducts. As a pure electric model, the charging port of the car is hidden in the B-column on the right side.

The biggest feature of the new car is the idea of "small battery + ultra-fast charge". It is equipped with a battery capacity of only 35 kilowatt hours and a range of 250 kilometers. But at the same time, the car supports ultra-fast charging technology and can be fully charged in just six minutes, no less than it takes to refuel a traditional fuel-fueled car. In addition, thanks to the small capacity battery, the weight of the vehicle is controlled within the 1000kg. However, the power information of the car has not yet been made public.

According to Nyobolt, the prototype car has gone through more than 2000 charging cycles without significant loss of battery performance. The company's battery technology will also be used in production in early 2024 and is "ready for large-scale use in the automotive industry."

CTOnews.com noted that the prototype of Nyobolt, the Lutes Elise, was discontinued in 2021 and was subsequently replaced by the Lutes Emira. In addition, Lutes was once widely known as "Lotus", but as early as 1984, Guangdong Wuhua Automotive Electrical Appliance Factory had already registered the "Lotus" and "Lotus" trademarks, so in 2004 Lotus could not apply for trademark registration under the name "Lotus". In desperation, Lotus had no choice but to choose the transliteration name-Lutes.
