CTOnews.com, June 14, according to the latest developer questionnaire report released by programming question and answer website Stack Overflow, although programmers are skeptical about the accuracy of various AI-driven tools, it does not hinder the use of tools such as ChatGPT in the development process.

The results of the survey showed that 77 per cent of programmers surveyed welcomed the use of AI in their workflows, and 70 per cent said they were using AI tools to program this year.

33% of respondents believe that the introduction of AI tools can improve productivity; 25% of respondents believe that the learning process can be accelerated.

However, most of the respondents were sceptical about the accuracy of the AI system, with only 3 per cent fully trusting AI tools, 39 per cent saying "partial trust", 31 per cent saying "no decision has been made", 22 per cent saying "I am very cautious" and 5 per cent saying "I do not trust" at all.

The report surveyed 90,000 programmers from 185 countries around the world. CTOnews.com attached additional information as follows:

ChatGPT is the most popular AI search tool, with 83% of respondents using it, followed by Bing (20%), WolframAlpha (13%) and Google Bard (10%)

GitHub Copilot is the most popular developer search tool, with 55% of respondents using it, followed by Tabnine (13%) and AWS CodeWhisperer (5%)
