CTOnews.com, June 14, in addition to extending the support period for Galaxy models, there are signs that Samsung is adjusting its update strategy to further extend the monthly security updates on top of the existing three-year monthly security updates.

CTOnews.com introduces Samsung's official update mechanism: the new model will release a security update once a month within 3 years after launch; after that, the update cycle will be gradually extended, with a quarterly security update starting from the fourth year, and further extended to a half-yearly update.

The Galaxy S20 series received a June security update this month, three years and three months after its release, and Samsung continues to maintain its monthly status. Dutch technology media Galaxy Club believes that the Galaxy S20 series will continue to maintain monthly shifts, and Samsung will push more security updates until the device stops supporting it next year.
