CTOnews.com June 14 news, Xiaomi Group Home Appliances Air conditioning Department today announced the signing of a strategic cooperation agreement with Panasonic air conditioners. The two sides will establish resource sharing in the R & D, production and manufacturing of air-conditioning products, and form a multi-level and multi-field strategic cooperative relationship.

▲ Tuyuan Xiaomi said that the two sides will not only cooperate in contract manufacturing to improve product quality and optimize manufacturing processes, the deeper significance of this strategic partnership lies in the sharing of resources in technology research and development between the two sides.

Zhang Feng, partner and senior vice president of Xiaomi Group, and Tang Ximao, vice president of Panasonic and president of Panasonic China Northeast Asia Co., Ltd., respectively delivered speeches at the signing site. Shan Lianyu, general manager of the air conditioning department of large household appliances of Xiaomi Group, and Jin Hailong, general manager of Guangzhou Panasonic air conditioners, jointly signed a cooperation agreement on both sides.

CTOnews.com noted that Xiaomi and Panasonic have already carried out cooperation on a number of projects, including the listed Xiaomi "giant power saving" series of air conditioners, as well as fresh air conditioning products jointly developed by the two sides, and it is expected that there will be a more comprehensive cooperation plan to cover more household appliance lines.

Xiaomi entered the air-conditioning market in 2018 and set up a large household appliance division in 2020. According to the Q1 financial report of Xiaomi Group in 2023, the number of connected devices on Xiaomi AIoT platform has reached 618 million, and more than 12.3 million users have five or more AIoT products. The revenue of smart home appliances business has increased for five consecutive quarters compared with the same period last year, with a growth figure of more than 60%.
