CTOnews.com June 14 news, according to market research firm Watch Faces released the latest data, Apple Watch in 2022 annual sales reached 53.9 million, the first time exceeded 50 million mark.

That means the Apple Watch is now Apple's fourth best-selling product, behind the iPhone, iPad and AirPods. Since its launch in 2015, Apple Watch sales have totaled 229.3 million units.

After Apple launched its first Apple Watch in 2015, sales of smart devices started at only 8.3 million units.

Apple Watch sales exceeded 100 million in five years, but reached 200 million only took an additional two years.

In 2016, Apple Watch sales grew 43% to 11.9 million; in 2017, sales grew again, but only 8% to 12.8 million; in 2018, Apple Watch sales soared 76% to 22.5 million; and in 2019, they grew 36% to 30.7 million.
