CTOnews.com, June 14 (Xinhua)-- according to a list published by the U.S. Trademark and Patent Office (USPTO), Apple has obtained a new technology patent to provide wear-resistant backplanes for future devices such as the iPhone,iPad or MacBook.

Apple's patent description points out that portable electronic devices, including handheld phones, tablets and laptops, come into contact with a variety of surfaces, resulting in damage or wear and tear.

Apple's patent outlines a space composite (Spatial Composites) made of metal or ceramic with a moldable matrix and an average distance between adjacent wear-resistant components of about 10 to 100 microns.

The wear-resistant member can be configured to reflect light at a certain angle; the Young's modulus (Young's modulus) of the substrate can be greater than or equal to 5GPA; and the diameter of the raised bead may be between 0.5mm and 5mm.
