CTOnews.com June 14, Logitech today announced a major news that Bracken Darrell, the company's president and CEO, is leaving. Darrell resigned as president, chief executive and board member with immediate effect. However, he will stay at the company for the next month to ensure a smooth transition.

As part of its succession plan, Logitech appointed Guy Gercht, a board member, as interim chief executive and conducted a global search for candidates, both internal and external.

CTOnews.com noted that Guy Gercht has been a non-executive member of Logitech's board of directors since September 2019 and served on Logitech's audit committee and served as chairman of the Technology and Innovation Committee before serving as interim CEO.

Logitech board chairman Wendy Becker expressed confidence in Gerhardt's ability to serve as interim chief executive. She pointed out that as an experienced CEO and board member since 2019, Gercht has a deep understanding of Logitech's strategy and is well suited to monitor the company's continued implementation of its plans.

Becker also thanked Bracken Darrell for his leadership during the transition, saying that under his leadership Logitech has achieved sustained growth and become an award-winning design company known for its innovative products. The board thanked Darrell for his contribution, wished him every success in his future career and eagerly looked forward to the selection of his successor.

In response, Guy Gercht expressed excitement about Logitech's current situation, highlighting the company's leadership in the growth market, its well-known product innovation, strong financial base and excellent leadership team. Gecht looks forward to working with the team to continue to implement Logitech's strategic vision.

Bracken Darrell reviewed his nearly a decade as chief executive of Logitech and said he believed it was the right time for a leadership transition. He thanked Logitech's excellent staff for their hard work and promised to work closely with Guyghert and the board of directors to ensure a seamless transition. Darrell also mentioned that he plans to continue to be a customer, shareholder and enthusiastic supporter of Logitech and its products.
