It is understood that the base station was built in the Zhuonai Lake, known as the "Tibetan antelope production room", which is located in the center of Hoh Xil Nature Reserve.

According to the introduction below, the establishment of the first local 5G base station will play an important role in animal protection and ecological monitoring in Hoh Xil Nature Reserve. The area of Zhuonai Lake has a harsh natural environment such as high altitude, high cold, strong wind and permafrost. From May to July every year, tens of thousands of female Tibetan antelopes migrate long distances and come to Zhuonai Lake to give birth. Therefore, the staff of Zhuonai Lake Protection Station need to carry out patrol and support work here for a long time.

The deployment of 5G base stations in this area started in early May, and the whole construction period took more than 20 days to complete. The 5G base station in this deployment uses two frequency bands, namely 700MHz and 2.6GHz. 700MHz band combined with 5G ultra-long-range coverage technology, the coverage radius can reach more than 10 km, and a single base station covers the entire territory of Zhuonai Lake; 2.6GHz band can support 32 channels of HD video upload, which can fully meet the large bandwidth requirements of HD video return around the protection station.

In addition, all the equipment on the site is powered by solar energy, which can withstand force 11 gale and severe cold of-50 ℃.

According to Hu Bo, general manager of Qinghai Mobile, the Internet transmission rate around the protection station can reach 860Mbps (CTOnews.com Note: 107.5MB/s), which can observe the process of Tibetan antelope giving birth in real time, and make it possible for the staff of the reserve to "not be isolated" under difficult conditions, and provide the possibility for subsequent changes in environmental protection, ecological monitoring, scientific investigation and management of the reserve. Sun Lijun, deputy director of the Sanjiangyuan National Park Administration, said the opening and operation of the 5G base station in Zhuonai Lake is a key step in the intelligent management of the national park.
