Thanks to CTOnews.com netizen Xiao Zhan for the clue delivery! CTOnews.com June 13 news, sources told Reuters that Intel is in talks with Softbank Corp. Group to become a major investor in Arm's initial public offering (IPO).

CTOnews.com has previously reported that Arm plans to go public on Nasdaq later this year and that its IPO could raise $8 billion to $10 billion (CTOnews.com Note: currently about 57.2 billion-71.5 billion yuan). The company secretly submitted its application for a US listing to regulators in April, laying the foundation for the world's largest IPO this year.

Arm's design is adopted by most of the world's major semiconductor companies, including Intel, AMD, Nvidia and Qualcomm. It is unclear what impact any IPO investment from one or more of these companies will have on Arm's business.

Arm and Intel didn't immediately respond to requests for comment.

On the other hand, affected by the news, Softbank Corp. 's share price opened high today. As of press time, Softbank Corp. 's share price on the Tokyo Stock Exchange closed at 6392 yen (currently about 328 yuan), up 6.62%.
