CTOnews.com, June 13, according to the evidence in the log, Apple seems to be preparing a new iOS 16.5.1 update for iPhone. It is not clear when the update will be released, but it is likely to be released this weekend or next week.

Minor updates like iOS 16.5.1 usually focus on fixing bug, stability improvements, and security patches rather than new features.

For now, Apple's Lightning-to-USB adapter doesn't seem to work on iPhone running iOS 16.5, but the problem was fixed in last month's iOS 16.6 beta, so there's a good chance the same fix will be included in iOS 16.5.1.

Apple released the first Beta version of iOS 17 on WWDC last week. The update will be released to iPhone XS and newer models later this year and will bring many new features, such as iPhone's standby mode when charging horizontally, interactive home screen widgets, improved autocorrections, Journal applications, etc.

Most importantly, developers of Beta now don't have to pay an annual Apple Developer program membership fee of $99 (CTOnews.com Note: currently about 706 yuan).

Earlier this month, Apple revealed that 81% of all active iPhone runs iOS 16, but that percentage is sure to decline with the release of the beta version of iOS 17. Apple is likely to release iOS 17 around September, when the iPhone 15 series will also be available.
