In April this year, the Central Network Information Office, the National Development and Reform Commission and the Ministry of Industry and Information Technology jointly issued the Work Arrangement for Further Promoting IPv6 Scale Deployment and Application in 2023 (hereinafter referred to as the "Work Arrangement").

The "Work Arrangement" clearly defines the work target for 2023: by the end of 2023, the number of IPv6 active users will reach 750 million, the number of IPv6 connections in the Internet of Things will reach 300 million, the proportion of IPv6 traffic in fixed networks will reach 15%, and the proportion of IPv6 traffic in mobile networks will reach 55%.

The work objectives also include: network, application infrastructure carrying capacity and quality of service are better than IPv4, cloud platform and Content Delivery Network IPv6 service coverage continues to expand. New factory home wireless routers, home intelligent networking products, set-top boxes, etc. support IPv6, and IPv6 address allocation function is enabled by default.

In addition, the Work Arrangement also requires government portals at or above the county level to fully support IPv6, the IPv6 support rate of major domestic commercial websites and mobile Internet applications to reach 90%, and the number of IPv6 supported applications on application distribution platforms to significantly increase. The "IPv6+" innovation ecology and standard system have been improved, and the IPv6 network security protection capability has been continuously consolidated.

In order to promote the comprehensive development of the "IPv6+" industrial ecology, the computing network integration team of the Institute of Technology and Standards of China Academy of Information and Communication, relying on CCSA TC621, launched the "IPv6+"Ready project jointly with Huawei, China Unicom and other industrial organizations, focusing on the "IPv6+"Ready 1.0 evaluation project based on SRv6 benchmark capability solutions.

According to reports, Huawei has successfully deployed IPv6 + government cloud network for more than 20 provinces and more than 60 cities based on network and security capabilities, and has end-to-end capabilities such as planning, design and deployment of IPv6 + government cloud network, and released IPv6 + government cloud network 2.0 on April 28.

In addition, a number of high-end core routers and WAN controllers of Xinhua Third Group under Ziguang Co., Ltd. successfully passed the "IPv6+ Ready 2.0 & SRv6 Ready" test certification formulated by Taier Laboratory of China Academy of Information Technology at the beginning of this month, becoming the first enterprise in the world to pass this test certification.

The "IPv6+"Ready 1.0 evaluation project has received extensive attention and positive response from all walks of life in the industry. Many equipment manufacturers and operators have participated in and further assisted the standardized and healthy development of the "IPv6+" industry through capability evaluation.

At this stage, relying on CCSA TC621, the network convergence team of China Institute of Information and Communication Technology and Standards, together with Huawei and other parties, officially launched the "IPv6+" Ready 2.0 industry assessment project, focusing on network slicing/streaming detection/new multicast/intelligent lossless technologies, promoting intelligent operation and maintenance innovation, meeting the requirements of typical scenarios in vertical industries, and improving user experience guarantee.
