Thanks to CTOnews.com netizen Xiao Zhan cut, rain and snow on the way clues delivery! CTOnews.com June 12 news, according to South Korean media "Asia Daily" reported that South Korea's Ministry of Education recently announced that in order to meet the growing demand of teachers and students for diversified learning content, artificial intelligence (AI) textbooks will be introduced into South Korean primary and secondary school classrooms from 2025.

Specifically, starting in the spring of 2025, students in Grade 3 and Grade 4 of Korean elementary schools and Grade 1 and Grade 1 will use AI textbooks in four subjects: Mandarin, Mathematics, English and Information Technology. Meanwhile, the Korean Ministry of Education plans to expand applied subjects and grades every year, aiming to achieve full coverage by 2028.

South Korea's Deputy Prime Minister for Social Affairs and Minister of Education Lee Joo-ho said in the AI Digital Textbook Promotion Plan that AI digital textbooks will apply the revised educational curriculum textbooks in 2022 and gradually expand the grades involved in stages. Considering that the first and second grade students in primary school are younger, the Korean Ministry of Education decided not to include them in the AI textbook project for the time being.

South Korea's Ministry of Education plans to expand AI courses to social science, family economics, science and technology in 2026; incorporate history courses in 2027; and complete AI courses in addition to practical courses such as sports, music and fine arts in 2028.

South Korea's Ministry of Education said that AI digital textbooks can observe students 'comprehensive learning level in real time and carry out "targeted teaching." AI can also analyze students' acceptance and growth, provide basic courses for students with weak learning ability, and give in-depth teaching courses to students with strong learning ability.

CTOnews.com previously reported that the South Korean government is vigorously promoting local companies to improve their competitiveness in the AI field, and OpenAI CEO Sam Altman just visited South Korea last Friday and met with South Korean President Yoon Suk-yueh and leaders of about 100 South Korean start-ups.
